Expertise in Every Asana:

A Dedicated Personal Approach for Your Unique Practice Needs

My Philosophy and Mentors

In every class, every breath is a deliberate act of mindful practice, deeply shaped by my ongoing studies with esteemed mentors like Jason Crandell and Duncan Parviainen. Their blend of traditional yoga wisdom and modern biomechanics has enriched my teaching style, making every session at SWY a journey of growth and innovation.

Ongoing Education and Specialised Training:

Yoga, for me, is a journey of endless discovery. I’m committed to continually expanding my knowledge to enhance the quality and impact of my classes at SWY.

Current Studies (2024)

This year, I’m diving deeper into 'The Art of Touch' with Leslie Pearlman and preparing for an intensive 300HR training with Duncan in early 2025. I’ll also be participating in the TOUCH module with Creature Yoga, later this year, focusing on bodywork and yoga assists, which will further enrich the hands-on support I provide in my classes.

Specialised Trainings

  • This year-long journey was pivotal. Jason’s expert guidance helped me refine our unique SWY Method, emphasising consistency and progression. This approach has filled a crucial gap in modern yoga, blending traditional wisdom with contemporary alignment principles.

  • Burnt out and seeking renewal, this training taught me the true art of deep relaxation. It has profoundly shaped how we approach rest in our classes, adding a luxurious layer of rejuvenation that complements our dynamic practices.

  • Joining Hunter Cook's program revolutionised my understanding of joint health and mobility. This has allowed me to integrate more dynamic, injury-resistant movements into our classes, making yoga accessible and sustainable for everyone.

  • While I haven’t studied with Jules directly, her teachings have significantly influenced my approach to integrating biomechanics into yoga. Her research-based methods align perfectly with my commitment to effective, engaging practice.

  • Drew's in-depth anatomy training was invaluable. It enhanced my ability to cater to individual needs, ensuring a safe and personalised yoga experience for all.

  • Cecily’s approach merges movement science with yoga, and her innovative mentorship continues to shape my teaching today. This training reinforced the importance of functional movement, a cornerstone of our classes at SWY.

  • This training introduced me to the therapeutic use of therapy balls, adding a valuable dimension to our practice. Now, therapy balls are available in the studio for all to use, enhancing mobility and reducing pain.

  • Francesca’s training has been crucial in shaping my approach to one-on-one sessions, allowing me to offer deeply personalised yoga experiences.

  • This training deepened my understanding of inclusivity, ensuring that every student feels welcomed and valued at SWY. Amber’s teachings in inclusivity have continued to influence my approach, and she now mentors me in building a more authentic, values-driven yoga business.

  • A challenging but enlightening experience that taught me the importance of authenticity and connection in teaching yoga.

  • My journey began here, with Kate’s guidance helping me see yoga as a path to self-discovery and grace. Her influence continues to inspire my teaching philosophy today.

The Student Becomes the Teacher

As I evolve, so does the wisdom I bring to my teaching. My Level 2 Yoga Teacher certification represents a commitment to providing comprehensive and nuanced instruction. Every session at SWY is crafted to be enriching and transformative.
